Quoting your question:
"...Salaam brother Dan. Quoting your question:
"asalam alaykum sister Zainab. I just want to ask you concerning the traditional salaat and what do you think about it. You see I am a muslim who also believe that the Quran is the ultimate book which muslims should go for their guidance. Now as for the Quran is concern, I do not see any contradiction in their salat. However when I say the tashahud instead of saying "...to you,O prophet.." I say "...to the prophet..." and I dont say salam yo the angels for I think it is shirk. What do you think? Aldo what about reciting the shahadah at salaat do you think it is okay?"

Answer:
Walaikum Salaam brother Dan. In my opinion your approach to Quranic method of salaat seems absolutely fine. Belief in Monotheism which is indispensable and the complete method of salaat given in the Quran have been explained in this blog entry. Other than that, you may add certain practices IF you're sure they don't clash with the principles of the Quran. Tashahud and durood are okay. These are supplications with the Shahadah which totally conform with Quranic principles.

Although salaam is not in the Quran, in my view there's nothing wrong with it because it's only a gesture of greeting to the recording angels - Kiraman-Katibin or "honorable recorders" as stated in the Noble Quran V.80:10-12. Salaam is simply a greeting of peace with which Allah instructs us to greet one another (Ref. Verses 24:61 and 4:86 and several other Verses). But if you want to omit it from your salaat, that's okay too. It's optional, entirely your decision. Zainabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10606734661595988955noreply@blogger.com
