Grand Mufti of Syria goes crazy and denies genocide against minority Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar

It's outrageous to watch Syria's grand mufti, Badreddin Hassoun, justifying India's decision of deporting 40,000 Rohingya-Muslim refugees back to Myanmar. He agrees with India's baseless claim that Rohingyas are a "security threat." Hassoun is of the opinion that this horrendous genocide is an 'exaggerated propaganda.' He denies that the Rohingyas are persecuted in Myanmar because of their religion. He denies the destruction of mosques in the Rohingya province of Myanmar. Hassoun's appalling comments come at a time when even most Western leaders have distanced themselves from the genocidal Myanmar ruler.

Never expected such mind boggling callousness from this man. With 7 devastating years of war and suffering in his own country, one would expect him to understand better the overwhelming misery that comes from ethnic cleansing, mass murder, rape, arson and utter destruction.

If Syria's vulnerability is pushing her to presume she may some day get a load of 'lollipops' from India, that won't happen in a million years!

Instead of focusing exclusively on problems inside Syria inclusive of Russian assistance, and ignoring Russian links outside Syria, this thick-skinned mufti is meddling in international relations and safeguarding a genocidal nation and its ally as both these countries are in the Russian bloc. Not to forget, this is also just as much the Israeli bloc.

Also, it's doubtful that Assad can be exonerated for such gross statements coming from his grand mufti. The Rohingya issue which was wholly ignored for the first 5 years starting 2012 got so bad by early 2018 that no one could ignore it any longer. Truth began appearing everywhere and the UN confirmed it as a genocide. It's next to impossible that Hassoun would say something so major concerning foreign policy if he wasn't shown the green light from the highest level. The problem is that though Assad handled matters within Syria well enough throughout the war, he has become extremely vulnerable in regard to foreign relations. No matter which thug, killer, tinker-tart-or-toff winks at him from the international stage cashing in on the Syrian situation, he will wink back like a fool.  This is what happens when a government gets too centralized. Assad's knowledge about the complexity in which international relations are intertwined (outside the Middle-East) is very poor. He needs some good advisers to educate him on various realistic issues. Otherwise he will further alienate Syria with the passage of years.

Too sick a world where just about no one appears capable of thinking aright.
