Remains of 215 indigenous children, some as young as 3, have been discovered near a residential school in Kamloops, B.C. Flags were flown at half-mast on May 30, 2021.
Imagine, how their parents must have felt when their little ones never made it back home.
Truth and Reconciliation Commission on residential schools set up in 2008 was told that 50 deaths occurred at the Kamloops institution. That’s how much facts are misreported and downplayed.
Residential schools (or compulsory boarding schools) run by Christian missionaries in 19th and 20th centuries were one of the most brutal colonial policies where indigenous North American kids were forced to assimilate, the goal of the vile residential schools being to take over the lives of the indigenous children, to disassociate them from their families and snatch away their identities. The board erected in front of the now shut Kamloops residential school says “The school was built in 1890, then rebuilt in 1923 due to a fire and remained open until 1977. In the 1920s native children aged 4 - 15 years were forcibly taken and prohibited from seeing their families, practicing their languages, cultures and traditions. Children attending K.I.R.S. experienced extreme isolation and segregation.”
A total of 130 residential schools operated in Canada between 1831 and as recently as 1996. Physical and sexual abuse of these poor indigenous children in residential schools were rampant. Thousands of them died from abuse and neglect during the 1800s and 1900s.
Christian missionaries have since long been notorious for their insensitivity and murderous callousness .. one of the most depraved segments of the society putting humanity to shame!

Lowered flag and tiny shoes in remembrance are all that can be done to mourn this heinous mass murder.
If the descendants of those half-human missionaries have a shred of conscience and some guts in their pants or panties should come forward and offer a national apology.
ReplyDeleteExactly ..
ReplyDeleteI think those ground penetrating radar specialists should check the surroundings of those other former residential schools too, and there will likely be many more such devastating surprises.
ReplyDeleteI think so too.
