Quoting from a piece of The New Arab:
“Syria was largely isolated from the rest of the Arab world following Assad's deadly cradkdown against protests that started as a peaceful uprising against his rule in 2011.”

Excuse me? Arab nations isolating Bashar al-Assad because of his “deadly crackdown” on protesters ?? This news outlet talks as if Assad is the only autocratic leader while rest of the Arab rulers are great champions of democracy. Let them try a protest in Egypt or Jordan or Morocco or any place in the Arabian peninsula. Only a few fortunate ones will come out of it alive. But for disinformation spreaders, it is only Assad’s policies that appear “deadly.” Not to mention, none of those early protests in Syria in 2011 were “peaceful.” They were rowdy and destructive from the beginning. These protests were funded by foreign entities whose goal was to bring down Assad’s government. Is it really surprising that they were anything but peaceful ??
Quoting another passage from the same piece of The New Arab:
“Assad's clampdown on civilians has resulted in the death of nearly 500,000 Syrians, and the displacement of millions more.”

The New Arab, do you need to be reminded that what happened in Syria was NOT a “civil war” as gossiped by buffoons like you? Have you forgotten that it was a proxy war financed by the Western establishment to break up the Axis of Resistance and appease the Zionist state? Have you forgotten that at least 29 deadly factions of Al Qaeda terrorists from the international network trained by the CIA in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey were sent to ravage Syria and topple Assad? In the face of all this, would any government in the world not respond in self defense? Would any government in its right mind hand over the keys to the terrorists with a red carpet? But the Western establishment, its lackeys and moronic media outlets like The New Arab ass-licking the mainstream Western media expected just that. If you cannot act your IQ, at least act your age. Without a doubt, Assad’s performance during the 10-year bloodbath in Syria unleashed and financed by the West has been gutsy and remarkable.
