Rohingya Muslims on Eid-al-Fitr 2018

This was Eid-al-Fitr July 15 for Rohingya Muslims at their flimsy refugee camps in BD. Not a morsel of traditional food, no gifts, no amusements from the heartless international community. Prayer is their only hope.

After escaping a nerve-shattering genocide perpetrated by the Buddhist majority of Burma, these poor people and their families have yet found no relief from misery.  Presently, monsoon rains are pounding and washing away their tiny huts, followed by floods and landslides.

The other bad news.  On June 6th a document was signed between the Burmese government and the UN titled 'Memorandum of Understanding.'  In reality it was the opposite.  They understood nothing.  According to this document, the Burmese government confirmed its refusal to grant citizenship to the Rohingyas, if they returned.  For everyone's information, Rohingya Muslims have been living in the western province of Burma for 8 centuries, if not more.  The malicious intent of the Burmese government is transparent.  If the Rohingyas returned, they would have no official status and genocide would resume.  The United Nations accepted this Memorandum which amounts to endorsing all possibilities of future crimes against the minority Muslims of Burma, should they  return.

For those who know little about this episode of genocide, here are some basic facts:-

At least 400,000 Rohingya Muslims killed and 800,000 have fled Burma because of the genocide (that started in June 2012).

About 60% Muslim women who escaped were victims of rape or gang-rape, including girls as young as 10.

Among children below the age of 5, more than 60% killed during that period were reportedly shot, 15% burnt to death in their homes, 7% beaten to death and 2% died due to landmine blasts.

All western governments, India, China, Russia are in favor of the killers.
