Spring in Ghouta (Syria) one year after liberation - March/April 2019

A little on Ghouta to refresh memories ....

Ghouta in Damascus district (غوطة دمشق‎) is a picturesque countryside and a suburb in southwestern Syria surrounding Damascus to the east and south.   It's mainly an agricultural region.   Ghouta has been a part of Damascus district since the times of the Rashedoon.

Al-Qaeda's terrorist faction, Al-Nusra Front, planned a false flag in Eastern Ghouta in August 2013 using the deadly sarin gas, acquired from foreign powers, that killed 280 civilians.  It was a desperate attempt to frame Assad and Syria narrowly evaded direct military intervention by NATO terrorists.  Other smaller terror groups active in Ghouta until end 2017 were Jaysh, Faylaq and Ahrar.

In mid 2017, Jaysh terrorists tried to play the same dirty trick in Ghouta's major city, Douma, by unleashing chlorine gas.  But by that time the collective destructive shenanigans of US-AQ-Israel were too easily recognizable and the false flag didn't succeed in framing the government.

When the residents of Ghouta spoke to UK's Channel 4 TV network and various other western outlets, they described life under terrorist-controlled Ghouta as "hell."   They had no water and no electricity.  They were not allowed to leave and were forced to join the thugs dubbed as "rebels."  In February 2018, SAA launched an operation to kick out all terrorists and in March of the same year they regained most parts  of the Eastern Ghouta pocket.
