The plan of action of Orban and Su Kyi is identical to the one of Donald Trump who has been striving for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. and the implementation of a hate-filled anti-Muslim immigration policy. That explains the admiration and support extended to the U.S. president by the nationalist Buddhist monks of Myanmar. The stratagem is much the same in present-day China led by Xi Jinping carrying out 'cultural genocide' against the Uighurs of East Turkestan, and Narendra Modi's India where persecution of Muslims in occupied Kashmir as well as discrimination against Indian Muslims are rising steadily to unprecedented levels.
This primitive mindset is perpetually justified by brutal rulers around the world with the pretense of "defense of their national and ethnic identity." It's a rhetoric that has been the apparatus for executing bloodshed and apartheid from persons such as Su Kyi, Orban, Netanyahu, Modi and Xi Jinping; it was the standard rhetoric of the former champions of genocide in Serbia; leaders like Donald Trump and Nigel Farge (Brexit party U.K.) unashamedly endorse the macabre perspective of these bigots.
Quoting excerpts from "Chilling Sign of Global Islamophobia" at Common Dreams: "For Aung San Suu Kyi, Islam represents an existential threat to the Buddhist culture of Myanmar. For Orban, Christianity is Europe’s last hope in the face of Islamic expansion and Hungary is the final line of defence .... How much longer must we listen to world leaders use this same chilling language against Muslims, before we begin to challenge their falsehoods and myths?"
