'Crawford police officers caught on video pummeling shoeless man'

Anyone with a past criminal record cannot become a cop.  But a cop who indulges in criminal (nay murderous) behavior on their job can continue being a cop and enjoy full protection.  This fucking world never ceases to astonish me!
