"Muhammad is but a messenger, messengers (the
like of whom) have passed away before him. Will it be that, when he dies or is
slain, you will turn back on your heels? He who turns back on his heels does no hurt to
Allah, and Allah will reward the thankful." 3:144 Al-Imraan.
On the morning of the Prophet’s (pbuh) passing, his closest friend, Abu Bakr Siddiq found a large group of people at the courtyard of the Prophet’s mosque & residence in disarray, arguing, screaming and Omar bin Khattab telling them it was a sin to say that the Prophet was dead. Abu Bakr told them to wait, went inside the mosque-residence to confirm. Less than half hour later he stepped out into the courtyard and addressed the restless crowd: “Whoever among you worships Muhammad, then Muhammad is dead. Whoever worships Allah, Allah is alive and cannot die.”

Ancestors of these thugs of the Khazar empire (who made a living by robbing the riches of passing trade caravans along the black sea and Caspian sea region) converted to Judaism as late as the 7th century. Before that they were pagans, followers of Shamanism.

It was a long ographical stretch starting from present day Ukraine, Russia across the Volga river, across the Black sea and Caspian sea and upto Kazakhstan and a little beyond. Thus, the Khazars were of diverse ethnicity. Those around Ukraine and Russia (including present day Moscow) were east Europeans. Those along the Black and Caspian sea coasts were Turkics. And those in Kazakhstan region were mongols. The ones who stole Palestine, South Lebanon and South West Syria were the descendents of east European Khazars that resided along Ukraine and Russia. A bunch of these Khazars went to the Iberian Peninsula (Spain) in the 8th century when Spain was under Islamic rule (Al Andalusia). while a smaller number went to various parts of central and western Europe known as Ashkenazi Jews. When Muslim rule ended in Spain in 1492, most of these Khazars then known as Sephardic Jews, left for Western Europe. Few came to Morocco and Turkiye.
