There is a ghastly practice in China known as the "dog meat festival." Every year at least 10,000 dogs are slaughtered to supply meat for this hair-raising social tradition. This year, an animal rights activist managed to rescue two cute furry puppies that were locked in a cage to be slaughtered for meat. Although many were killed and eaten, at least two were saved.
