Shirazi Cult And Complacency of London Police

On March 9, 2018 attackers from a group known as Shirazi Cult armed with knives and sticks stormed the compound of the Iranian Embassy in London. They scaled the walls and climbed into the balcony, hoisting the group's flag and chanting "down with Khamanei, the pharaoh" without the slightest reaction from London police. Iran has outlawed this group as a Shiia extremist organization with offensive sectarian interpretations and complete rejection of Sunni Islam.

Members of this group were arrested in London more than 24 hours after they temporarily occupied a portion of the Iranian Embassy. It was a huge breach of diplomatic security. Normally, if proper security arrangements are in place, such intruders should not be reaching even the gates of a foreign embassy. According to Iran’s Prosecutor General, Mohammad Jafar Montazeri , "police forces were only watching the trespassers and did not intervene even when the Iranian flag was taken down."

Tehran has constantly appealed to all Shiia Muslims not to recognize nor support the Shirazi cult and its deeply sectarian approach. This group consists of a small band of supporters of Sadegh Shirazi, an Iranian cleric and a fierce critic of Syyed Ali Khamanei for his untiring efforts to establish friendly ties with Sunni Muslim countries. The cult is infamous for hurling insults on Islamic holy sites around the world. They are known as the Shirazi Cult in Iran. The group calls itself "Khoddam al-Mahdi" carrying the blue & white flag. Dissident Sadegh Shirazi is presently under detention in Iran for his antagonistic speeches, and his followers abroad are angry.

Iran has long suspected the Shirazi cult to be under the protection of Britain trying to use these extremists for a constitutional revolution within the Islamic Republic of Iran. The incident of March 9 is yet another evidence of Britain's connivance with the dissident group.
