Iran Floods March/April 2019

Deepest sympathy for 42 lives lost and thousands of homes destroyed in massive floods that followed widespread snow and rain in 23 out of 31 provinces of the country. Entire villages evacuated declaring state of emergency, scores of shelters set up ... so very tragic.

A slight rise in temperature with cloudy skies after heavy snow that turns the rest of the snowfall into heavy downpour can be just so disastrous. The rapid thawing of the snow causes such fierce deluge, washing away everything on its way.

For western countries it's a 'cardinal sin' to reach out to Iran with humanitarian assistance. And, I only wish the Arab League would speak more about the cohesion of Muslims rather than the cohesion of Arabs and step out of its useless shell of archaic parochialism.
