Soon after the drone incident, the embarrassed Trump administration announced U.S. was "leaving the door open" for talks while simultaneously Mr. Trump called for sanctions on Iranian FM, Javad Zarif, and other top officials. The idiocy continued to completion placing the cherry on the cake. Trump also imposed sanctions on the Supreme Leader claiming that he was responsible for Iran's "hostile conduct." This level of maliciousness is not normal behavior .... seems like this philandering geezer has syphilis of the brain or something similar that has devastated his central nervous system and left him erratic and sick. He doesn't even know that Ayatollah Ali Khamanei and the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini are two separate individuals. While imposing sanctions on the former, he mentions the latter who passed away in 1989. Moreover, the geezer is incapable of realizing that "sanctions" have NO bearing on the Supreme Leader's status whatsoever. The purpose of "personal sanctions" targeting an official is to prevent them from accessing their financial resources and to bar their entry inside U.S. The Supreme leader has no assets in the U.S. nor anywhere in the West. Neither did he ever make any plans to visit the U.S. in the past nor will he ever in future.
Iran has confirmed that such senseless measures "spell the permanent closure" of diplomacy. Trump has proven without a doubt that he isn't simply against Iran's uranium enrichment program. By targeting Iran's highest religious authority, he is seeking to destroy the religious values of the country's huge majority which is the foundation of their lives.
