Bird terror

Big birds attacking humans isn't a common occurrence, not even birds flying in hordes.  However, crows crowding in Rome, Italy, isn't unusual.   But recently, the scenario of crow infestation in Rome with these birds going berserk has been dubbed as "crow attack."   The standard story is that Rome has always had a huge crow population.  In spring they are too focused on weaning their hatchlings and see human presence as a threat.   While Rome maybe having an unusually large crow ‘community’ busy nursing their chicks through spring until early summer, it's never been as irritatingly scary as in the spring of 2021.  Covid19 has unleashed enough havoc in Italy already, and now 'Romans' are literally having to walk on the streets with umbrellas for shelter and sticks to shoo away those crows swooping down like predators on passers-by.  It's really got nothing to do with crows protecting their chicks.  The truth is, Rome needs to improve on hygiene.   Pandemic lockdowns only made it worse.    Piles of garbage brimming with rotting food aren't removed by the municipality for days, inviting an abundance of feasting mice and hungry scavengers like crows!   Clean up Rome!!
