Algeria’s official news agency was hacked. Suspects are Israel and parts of Europe, and most shamefully, Morocco (a Muslim country) aided them. That how much political interest can demean a country and consequently an entire community.
Reason why Algeria and Morocco aren’t on good terms any longer also causing a rupture of Morocco’s relations with Tunisia is the Western Sahara dispute – Western Sahara annexed to Morocco by its inept king similarly as Israel occupies Palestine. It also explains why Morocco normalized relations with Israel in 2020. That’s the year when Moroccan army forcibly entered a buffer zone in Western Sahara which the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR or Polisario Front) viewed as an act of war.
Last month in mid January 2023 during a soccer match in South Africa’s Nelson Mandela Stadium attended by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune,, Nelson Mandela’s son demanded freedom for Western Sahara, his statement hailed by President Tebboune of Algeria.
